The WV School-Based Health Assembly welcomes Kelli Caseman, MA as the new Executive Director. Kelli has worked in public health programming, advocacy and outreach in West Virginia for over five years. She has served in leadership roles on health-related committees and coalitions across the state and has a specific interest in advancing comprehensive health services for children. Please join us in welcoming Kelli as our new Executive Director.

H.R. 3003, the School-Based Health Clinic Establishment Act of 2009
Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito is an original co-sponsor of H.R. 3003, the School-Based Health Clinic Establishment Act of 2009. This bi-partisan legislation would establish a grant program within the US Department of Health and Human Services to award grants in support of school-based health clinics. Currently, this legislation is also included in proposed health care reform legislation.

CDC Guidance for State and Local Public Health Officials and School Administrators for School (K-12)
Responses to Influenza during the
2009-2010 School Year expands upon earlier school guidance documents
by providing a menu of tools that school and health officials can
choose from based on conditions in their area. The guidance recommends
actions to take during this school year and strategies to use if CDC
finds that the flu starts causing more severe disease. It also
provides a checklist for making decisions at the local level. The
