WV-CHIP Expansion To Cover Additional Uninsured Children
Effective January 1, 2007, the West Virginia Children’s Health Insurance Program (WV-CHIP) plans to review applications under expanded income eligibility guidelines. This expansion phase allows an increase to 220% of the federal poverty level to provide an opportunity for more uninsured children to have health care coverage through WVCHIP. These new guidelines will allow those families to have health coverage for their children through premium payments. In addition, children must have been without private group insurance coverage for 12 months to be eligible. Visit www.wvchip.org for more information on co-payments and benefits.

School Health Expansion Update
How does WV expand school health services within a comprehensive coordinated framework into parts of the state that at have little or no services? The WVSBHA, along with other state and community-level partners, continues to work on expansion efforts through awareness and redesign strategies along with passage of a legislative study resolution on school health. Stay tuned as work continues in this area!
